On Tuesday, the 12th of April, 2016. Washan center, an active center that belongs to the Department of Kurdish language at the University of Zakho, held a poetry contest as a part of its scientific activities at the university. It was visited by a large number of students, teachers and the members of the university's staff in the Seminar Hall at the Faculty of Humanities. in the end three of best contestants were honored:

1st : Amjed Abdulrazaq Mohmmed/ The Dep. of Kurdish language.

2nd: Nigirvan Khalid Mosa/ The Dep. of Kurdish language.

3rd: Sliman Salih Kori/ The Dep. of Computer Science.

3rd: Savin Rashid Ali/ The Dep. of Arabic language.
